Kings Cross, last stop for canal boat traffic on its way to the Thames 200 years ago, has been re-born. The final distribution point for the nation’s cargo in 1820 when it was created, Kings Cross by 1970 was an edgy neighbourhood, as known for drugs and prostitution as for cutting edge venues like Bagley Studios and The Cross Nightclub. After a respectful makeover that preserves the historic buildings at its core, Kings Cross could be a music centre again. All it needs is a boat and a stage. Something we provided to make the point as recently as Christmas 2022.
