Uxbridge — way out in Zone 6, with dozens of permanent moorings and two well-stocked ship’s chandleries — is practically its own little canal boat village. A 5-minute walk from the bitter end of the Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines you reach the Swan and Bottle, a Green King pub whose parking lot is canal side and a prime venue available for use with permission from management. Nearby is the Denham Yacht Station marina, whose fuel dock is privately owned and thus exempt from Canal and River Trust requirements. Anyone wishing to stage an event there merely needs permission of Yacht Station owners and a Temporary Events Notice from Hillingdon Borough.
