Decades of regeneration efforts have born fruit in Tottenham Hale, a former industrial zone increasingly dominated by high rise apartment buildings, big box stores, and infrastructure like HS2 which heralds continued growth.  For the weekend of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the Canal and River Trust invited us to debut canalside entertainment in two locations on the River Lea, at Tottenham Lock and Stonebridge Lock. Events staged there require liaising with the River Lea Recreation Area office in addition to the Borough of Haringey and the Canal and River Trust.

Events at both Tottenham Lock and Stonebridge Lock were subsidised by the Canal and River Trust.  Wes Charles on stage. Malaika, a spoken word poet and author of “Wakandan Dream,” in foreground. Both Tottenham Lock (left) and Stonebridge Lock (right) sites are wheelchair accessible.
